Points Protection was designed to provide you with flexibility and peace of mind when booking your RCI exchange vacation. In simple terms, if you need to cancel your exchange vacation for ANY reason, Points Protection ensures that you will be refunded 100% of the Points that you used for that exchange.

How does it work?

With Points Protection, you can cancel or change your vacation right up until the check-in time shown on your confirmation, and you don’t have to give a reason – it really is a case of no questions asked.

If you cancel your vacation, you will be able use your refunded Points to book an alternate vacation. There’s no need to miss out on a great vacation, when Points Protection is an option!

When can I purchase Points Protection?

It’s best to purchase Points Protection at the time you make your exchange – but your check-in date must be at least 14 days away. However, you can still add Points Protection to your exchange vacation up to 30 days after making your reservation, again, providing that your check-in date is still at least 14 days away.

How do I add Points Protection to my exchange?

To add Points Protection to your exchange vacation on RCI.com, simply select Points Protection during check-out. Or, tell your RCI Vacation Guide when booking and rest assured - your Points are protected!

Already have a vacation confirmed? Simply click on Confirmed Reservations in the Vacation Plans section of the My Account tab on RCI.com and click Add Points Protection next to the relevant vacation, or contact your RCI Vacation Guide by calling 1-877-968-7476.

Something to note! – Without Points Protection, the standard cancellation policy would apply. Unless you cancel at least 120 days prior to check in, you would only be refunded a portion of your Points, depending upon how close to check-in you cancel. Please note that exchange fees are not covered by Points Protection.
